What is Authentigate?

Authentigate is a secure gateway that enables e-services to easily request and receive verified personal data about users, based on strong identity verification methods.

What Verified Data Can Be Requested?

Authentigate allows e-services to request the following user attributes:

if `age_comparator = 18`, then `age_under = yes` for users 17 or younger.

When users authenticate via eParaksts, age-related attributes are not provided at this time. Please note that if your service requests age-related attributes and allows authentication through eParaksts using ACR values, these attributes will not be returned in the response.

How Is the Data Verified?

  • Authentigate verifies the identity of the user using supported national eID solutions.

  • Data is retrieved from reliable and authentic sources, such as digital certificates issued by trusted parties.

Authentication Methods

Smart-ID

  • App-based strong authentication solution.

  • Available in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belgium.

  • Suitable for both personal and organizational use. More about Smart-ID

New: Authentigate now supports Smart-ID+, including the new authentication flows: QR code and Web2App. Smart-ID+ is optional and can be activated for your service upon request.
Mobile-ID
ID-card (Estonia)

  • Physical ID card used with a smart card reader.

  • Mandatory for Estonian citizens and EU residents in Estonia. More about ID-card

eParaksts mobile

  • An official Latvian electronic identity solution that allows users to authenticate using the eParaksts mobile application.

  • The user is redirected to the eParaksts identity portal.

  • Upon successful authentication, the verified identity data is returned to Authentigate and the OIDC flow continues as usual. Mobe about eParaksts mobile
